Nine delicious days. Twelve kind and curious explorers. Two fun, Italy-loving photographers. One unforgettable experience. Join Isabella Dellolio and Danielle Tait as we explore a more authentic side of travel!

Come eat, laugh, walk, and photograph the art and culture of Bologna and its surrounding countryside. As your hosts, we will bring our passion for experiential travel. We will take our time each day, savoring a slower pace and the chance to really immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors of this extraordinary region. Your senses will delight in this unique and laidback trip.

Known as la grassa, la rossa, e la dotta - “the fat, the red, and the learn’d” - due to its delectable cuisine, terracotta tiled rooftops, and being home to the oldest university in the world, Bologna is famous for its progressive politics, warm and friendly people.

Enjoy wine-tasting and the magic of the roads less traveled. Visit an enchanting country resort and learn to create authentic Bolognese dishes.

Isabella Dellolio
Isabella (right) is originally from Bologna. Her passions are photography, traveling, and connecting with people. She also loves coffee and food - especially pizza! She moved to the United States as an adult, and spends as much time as possible with family and friends in Italy. While dreaming of new destinations, she works as a portrait photographer in Western Massachusetts. She loves hiking, practicing yoga, contra dancing, and trying new things, like rowing and camping in the desert. Isabella adores her two children. They are fun, passionate, curious young adults, who speak Italian with a very sweet American accent :)

Danielle Tait
Danielle (left) was born and raised in NJ into a large Italian family. She has lived in Western Massachusetts for 20 years. Danielle is a mother to two amazing kids who keep her very busy. She makes her living as a portrait photographer and yoga instructor. Danielle has traveled to Italy many times for school, work and pleasure. She loves the slow pace, quality of life, and richness of Italian food and culture. Danielle loves to spend her free time exploring and discovering new hidden places, no matter how close or far from home she is. She has long dreamed of blending work and travel… she can’t wait to share this very special experience with you.

What we have planned

Each day you will be immersed in a different aspect of Italian culture, cuisine, and beauty. Expect a lovely balance of guided tours, time to yourself, discoveries off the beaten path, and of course, lots of fun and food!

This year our trip will include a day trip to Ravenna to explore the incredible mosaics and its Byzantine architecture. Another wondrous day will be spent in Ferrara, a hidden gem of the Emilia Romagna region. This city was a prominent artistic and cultural hub during Medieval times. In each of these cities you will enjoy time with our trusted guides as well as time on your own to explore. And of course we will also be participating in an unforgettable cooking experience to learn about the local culinary traditions of this region!!

Each day we have a group activity planned as well downtime to rest, relax and just soak up the Italian culture. Guests are welcome to join in our scheduled activities or sit them out. We want this trip to be everything you need and want out of your travel experience.

What to expect

We will be very physically active on this trip. Expect lots of walking on old, uneven, cobblestone streets, as well as light hiking. You will need to be able to carry or roll your own luggage down streets as well as up stairs. You can plan on a nice balance of time together as a group and time to explore on your own in Bologna and other destinations.

Regardless of the reason, cancellations result in additional costs and processing time for the trip organizers, as such all cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee.
MORE THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR TO START DATE: $100 Cancellation fee plus $750 deposit forfeited per person.
LESS THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR TO START DATE: $150 Cancellation fee plus $750 deposit, and full balance forfeited per person.
