FAQs & Things to Know Before Our Time Together
Who do you photograph?
In a word: People! More specifically: personal portraits and branding, professional headshots, friends, high school seniors, families of all kinds, newborn, maternity, couples.
What’s your style?
Laid back, fun, natural, warm, meaningful, connected, and authentic. My aim is to capture connections and humanity.
How long will our session last?
Plan on meeting for one hour or so.
Do you offer mini sessions? No; I find that an hour together is more favorable to my style resulting in a much more relaxed experience and photos that really tell your story and really capture your family’s connection.
What locations works best?
There are many beautiful outdoor spots in the Pioneer Valley where I love to work, particularly with couples and families. I will suggest a few of these to you and we’ll discuss what best suits your specific needs. For newborns, I can come to your home. Studio (extra fees apply) and indoor sessions are an option as well. Please let me know if this is your preference before booking. The time of the session might be different because of the light and studio availability.
What time of the day works best for outdoor sessions?
For outdoor sessions, individual or family portraits, we will meet one hour or two before sunset, when the light is the prettiest. For indoor, specific events or special circumstances we can meet at different times of the day. Let me know before booking.
What if the weather is bad?
In the case of inclement weather, we will reschedule our time together. I usually wait the same day to decide if we have to reschedule or not.
Do we reschedule if it is cloudy?
Nope! Clouds are our friends and we will not reschedule if it is overcast.
What do I wear?
I prefer that you dress according to your own style, so that you’re truly comfortable. That being said, it’s best to avoid logos and flashy colors. If there are two or more people in your shoot, I suggest you coordinate colors rather than trying to match. You can read more tips here. What you’re wearing can either enhance or detract from us really seeing YOU!
Do we meet before the session?
We will meet the day of the session but I am available to talk before to help you prepare and answer any questions.
When can I see the photos?
You will receive a link to your online gallery within 4 weeks from the day of the session.
Do I get to choose my photos?
You will only receive the edited high-resolution photos that I pick for you. I look carefully at each and every image from your session and select the best images.
Do I get digital photos of the session?
You will receive the artistically edited high-resolution digital files in both color and black and white, delivered in an online for direct download.
Can I order prints?
Your photos will be presented in a private online gallery and you can order prints directly from the site. The prints are professionally made by a print lab. You can order prints a la carte or choose one of the 3 packages.
What is included in the price?
- All communication (both before and after)
- The on-location session experience
- My professional selection of the most authentic and meaningful photos from our time together. The artistically edited, high resolution, digital portraits both in color and BW
- Access to an online gallery within four weeks after the day of our session, shareable with friends and family
- Digital images that are yours forever after you download them from the gallery
What is NOT included in the price?
- Prints of your photos (which you can order through your gallery and will be completed by a fabulous third-party professional printing lab)
- Access to unedited photos from your session
- The expedited processing fee of $150 for more rapid access to the gallery of digital photographs than the standard delivery period, subject always to Photographer’s professional availability
- Travel fees for more distant locations or for specific location scouting
- Any surprise or unexpected fees
Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit is required to book your session and firm your date. The balance is due the day before the session at the latest.
Can I print the photos myself?
You can but I highly recommend using the professional print lab through the hosting gallery website. They do a fabulous job!
