I'm the kind of person who talks to strangers. Everyone has a story, and I'm genuinely curious about it.
I also spend a ridiculous amount of time watching people. Not in a creepy way! I just find everyday life fascinating. I could happily sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.
I smile a lot, laugh often, and don't take myself too seriously.
Oh... and if you're wondering, I grew up in Italy and moved to the US when I was 26. The reason? Love. It seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to do at the time.
The love of my life is my two kids. The rest is pretty predictable: travel, good food, and spending time with people I enjoy. Preferably all at the same time.
I also love fashion, though probably not the most trendy kind. Give me linen, cotton, layers, natural fabrics, and interesting jewelry, and I immediately start imagining combinations of colors, textures, and styles. I love working with my hands and I enjoy making some of my own jewelry.
Photography wasn't always the plan.
For years, it was simply something I loved. While I was working as a graphic designer at a local newspaper, my supervisor knew I had a camera and asked if I could do some photography for a special publication. Before long, photographing people became part of my work for the newspaper's art department.
That changed everything.
Getting out of the office, meeting someone new every day, hearing their stories, and making their portrait felt completely natural to me. I realized that what I loved most wasn't just taking photographs. It was the connection that happened before I even pressed the shutter.
That's what eventually led me to portrait photography.
It probably also explains why I fell so deeply in love with India. It's a place where connecting with people feels effortless. I've lost count of how many times I've been invited into someone's home by people I'd just met. Those conversations, cups of chai, and unexpected moments have become some of my favorite travel memories. The colors, the food, the organized chaos, and above all the people keep drawing me back. It’s magic!
I also love places that make you feel small. The ocean. The desert. Wide open landscapes. Beautiful light. They all have the same sense of endlessness that I never seem to get tired of.
I'm definitely a morning person when I need to get things done, but late afternoon is my favorite time of day. The light gets softer, people slow down a little, and everything feels more relaxed. Places seem to reveal a different side of themselves.
I think people do too.
Looking back, it makes perfect sense that I became a portrait photographer. I genuinely enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories. Photography has simply become my excuse to do more of it.
